George & Florence (Gentle) Butler had three sons: Morton, Maynard and Arthur. The youngest, Arthur died when he was a year old in 1895. Morton & Maynard are pictured above ca. 1910.
Morton born Aug. 13, 1883 married Mary Robertson in 1907 and had five children. He was a carpenter and owned a grocery store in Wayne City. The family lived on Robinson Street east of Main Street along the railroad tracks. He died Feb. 13, 1953 in Wayne City.
Maynard born Oct. 29, 1891 and never married. He attended Illinois State University and became a school teacher. In 1913 he was diagnosed with an appendicitis and decided that he would not undergo surgery. He died Nov. 3, 1913 at the age of 22 years and 5 days.
