Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas & Elizabeth (Clark) Lathrop.
1762 Hans
Michael Goodnight & Mary Landis in VA or NC. Mary born ca. 1710 was the
daughter of Christopher Landis. Michael
was born in Germany ca. 1730. It is
believed that he had a son Christian in Germany. They sailed from Rotterdam to Philadelphia on
the Neptune in 1752. Sometime between
1752 and 1755 Michael moved to Bedford Co. VA.
Sometime between 1762 and 1774 Michael moved to Mecklenburg Co. NC and
settled near Charlotte on 190 acres. He
was listed as a constable in 1775 and an assessor in 1777. He is also said to have been one of the
signers of the Mecklenburg Resolves, however the document has not
survived. In 1779 Michael preempted 400
acres of land in present Boyle Co. KY.
While moving his family to Kentucky, he was killed by Indians near
Harlan’s Station near Salt Creek.
Michael & Mary had 9 children.
Mary married a Flanigan ca. 1787.
She died in Mercer Co. KY in 1795.
