Heiss, Willard. 1820 Federal Census for Indiana, Indianapolis, IN: Indiana Historical Society, 1975.
Original federal census for Indiana has issues.  Daviess County is not known to exist. Pagination is a bit of a joke.  Some pages are copied twice. Jennings County was a mess, but the author went to the trouble having photographs made that he reassembled in the correct order.  No township names are given or any other kind of subdivision within the counties. Posey County census taker could barely write English was writing many German names.

Contains a map of Indiana county boundaries as of 1820.

Nolcox, Terry. Gibson County, Indiana Source Book, Vol. I, Princeton, IN: Terry Nolcox, nd.

Thursday, June 28, 1866 [date of newspaper, not necessarily death date] Death of an Old Soldier - Johnson Fitzgerald, a soldier who was under the command of Gen. Harrison, and who survived the battle of Tippecanoe - fought on the 7th of November, 1811 - died at his residence in this county a short time ago, of Typhoid or winter fever. At the time of his death Mr. Fitzgerald was one of four of the survivors of that memorable battle living in this county. He was true to his country to the last. The names of the three still living are David Johnson, Henry Reel and John I. Neely.

Nolcox, Terry. Gibson County, Indiana Source Book, Vol. II, Princeton, IN: Terry Nolcox, nd
1820 Federal Census of Gibson County, Indiana - Gibson County had been divided into three townships in 1817 by the board of county comissioners. The boundaries were established as follows: White River township - "that part of the county north of the Patoka River and west of the line dividing the counties of Gibson and Pike."  Patoka township - "that part of the county south of Patoka River, and between said river and Anderson's Creek, and a due south course from the head of said creek to the line dividig the counties of Gibson and Posey." Montgomery township - that part of the county west of Anderson's Creek and a line drawn due west from the head of the same to Posey County and north of the line dividing  the counties of Gibson and Posey."

During the colleciton of the 1820 census data, the boundaries of Gibson County were different than the present ones. Sections 33-36 of Township 3 South, Range 14 West and Sections 31-36 of Township 3 South, Range 13 West, now part of Posey County, were within the boundaries of Gibson County. Sections 1-18 of Township 4 South, Range 11 West, now part of Johnson township in Gibson County, were within the boundaries of Posey County.

All of the area covered by Township 4 South Ranges 6-9 West, now part of Warrick County, were within the boundaries of Gibson County.

Sections 1-3, 10-15, 22-27 & 34-36 of Township 3 South Range 9 West and Sections 5-8, 17-20 & 29-32 of Township 3 South Range 8 West, now part of Barton township of Gibson County, were within the boundaries of Pike County. Additionally, all of the current area of Columbia township was within the boundaries of Pike County.

Finally, Sections 4, 5, 8 & 9 of Township 1 South, Range 9 West and Sections 7-9, 16-21, 28-33 and all locations and Survesy therein, now part of Pike County, were within the boundaries of Gibson County.

[nd] Patrick Payne admr. of all and singular the goods, rights and chattles & credits of Robert Slaven dec'd. came into court and made a partial settlement of his said administration by which it appears that he is entitled to a credit as per receipts and vouchers filed in the clerks office in the sum of one hundred and twenty dollars eight and one half.  [If this is the Robert Slaven said to have settled in Gibson County ca. 1810, could be Mary (Slaven) Fitzgerald's father. If it is the Robert who died in 1872, it could be her brother.]

[nd] On farther settlement of the estate of Robert Slaven dec'd it appears that the amount of the estate as per inventories of sale filed in the clerks office is two hundred and eighteen dollars fifty six and one fourth cents and that the admrs. are entitled to a further credit of one hundred & three dollars twenty-six cents which with the sum of one hundred and twenty dollars eight & one half cents heretofore entered to the credit of the said admrs. shows a ballance in favour of said admrs. of four dollars seventy eight cents.
