Edward Dorrell of Scotney, Sussex, England md. his distant cousin Mary Darrel heiress of Bowley in Pagham, Sussex and had a son Thomas. In 1572 they purchased a moiety of Horkstow manor in Lincolnshire.

Sir Thomas Dorrell b. 10 Aug. 1553.  He married 1) Elizabeth Morley, 2) Anne Muschamp 8/31/1585 & 3) Bridget (Crosby) Towers, 7/25/1598.

Anne Muschamp, daughter of William & Mary (Agmondesham) Muschamp was baptized Dec. 26, 1565 and given the name of her older sister Anne.  She sometimes appears in the records as Anne or Susan.  She was dead by July 27, 1598 when Thomas remarried.  No burial or probate records have been found. 

Bridget Towers was buried at Horkstow Jan. 12, 1616/7.  She died intestate with administration granted on Oct. 16, 1617.

By 1598, Thomas Dorrell was living in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, where his children by his third wife were baptized 1599-1605. And by 1603 he had sold his Sussex estates.  He was knighted on July 23, 1603 at the coronation of James I and sat 1604-1611 as member of Parliament for nearby East Retford, Nottinghamshire.  He lived his last years at Horkstow manor and was buried there June 26, 1616.  Thomas died intestate with administration granted Aug. 26, 1616.
