In Memoriam - October 31st

1614 Helen (Babbs) Peck age 68 in Beccles, England.  She was born in Guildford, England in 1546 the daughter of Nicholas Babbs.  Helen married Robert Peck and they had seven children: Margaret, Martha, Samuel, Richard, Nicholas, Robert and Joseph. 

1683 Samuel Fuller in Barnstable, MA, husband of Jane Lathrop they had nine children:  Hannah, Samuel, Elizabeth, John, Sarah, Mary, Thomas, Sarah and unnamed child. 

1897 Eliza (Gurley) Milner age 49 in Illinois.  She was the daughter of Leonard & Nancy (Warren) Gurley born in Illinois in 1848.  Eliza married Joseph Milner and they had four children:  Nancy, Mary, Emma and Olive. She is buried in Brush Creek Cemetery in Divernon, IL.


1917 Martha (Smith) Spicer in Simpsonville, KY, age 69.  The daughter of James & Susan (Runyon) Smith she was born in Woodford Co., KY in 1848.  Martha married ? Spicer. 

1919 James Powell age 94 in Richford, VT the son of John & Aurelia (Fassett) Powell.  He was born in Richford, VT in 1825.  He is buried in the Troy Street Cemetery in Richford, VT.

1983 Emma Anderson daughter of Jabez & Doretta (Maulding) Anderson age 92.  She is buried in Farnsworth / Mt. Zion Cemetery in Wayne Co., IL.

1999 Robert R. (Bob) Robertson, 61, of Sims, died at 2:43 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, Ind.
He was owner and operator of R.R. Robertson Lumber Company at Sims.
Funeral rites will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday from the York Funeral Home in Wayne City, with Rev. Julian Buchanan officiating.  Interment will be in the Oak Valley Church Cemetery near Geff. Visitation will be 6 to 8 Tuesday evening at York Funeral Home in Wayne City.
He was born at Rankin, Ill., Dec. 4, 1937, the son of Leland (L.L.) and Vivian Morger Robertson.
Mr. Robertson was married to Alberta Ruth Auvil Oct. 13, 1991.
He was a member of Sims Missionary Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents and an infant sister.
Memorials may be made to the Oak Valley Church Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Shari Warren of Evansville, Ind.; Mrs. Randy (Latisa) Bullock of Dahlgren; and Mrs. Terry (Lawana) Gay of Dahlgren; five sons, Jerry (Patty) Caudle of Cisne; Scott Robertson of Johnsonville; Michael (Connie) Robertson of Wayne City; Tony (Tina) Robertson of Geff; and Robbie (Rhonda) Robertson of Cisne; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lelah (Bob) Garrison of Sims; Pat (Gerald) Legg of Sims; and Mary Paul of Geff; and four brothers, Bill (Doris) Robertson of Sims; Donny (Beverly) Robertson of Sims; Jim (Clara Lee) Robertson of Wayne City ; and Harold (Alene) Robertson of Geff.
