In Memoriam - October 20th

1735 Josiah Loomis son of Nathaniel & Elizabeth (More) Loomis in Lebanon, CT age 74.  He was born in Windsor, CT in 1661.  Josiah married Mary Rockwell and they had eight children:  Josiah, Mary, Josiah, Abigail, Caleb, Ephraim and Nathaniel.

1754 Rev. Ephraim Avery age 41 in Brooklyn, CT.  He was born in 1713.  Ephraim married Deborah Lathrop and they had nine children: John, Ephraim, Samuel, Samuel, Elisha, Elizabeth, Septimius, Deborah and Ruth.

1832 Margaret (?) Clark in Lawrence Co., OH.  She was the wife of Joel Clark and is buried in Pine Grove Cemetery in Lawrence Co., OH.

1870 Edward Gurley 2 month old son of John & Martha Gurley in Massac Co., IL.  He’s buried in Masonic Cemetery in Metropolis, IL.

1897 Matilda (Oglesby) Hinkle age 85.  She was born in 1812 and married Caspar Hinkle.  The Hinkles had six children: George, Jess, Susannah, Elizabeth, Rachael and Charles.  Matilda is buried in Fairview Cemetery in Shelby Co., KY.

1897 Matilda (Hinkle) Taylor daughter of Charles & Susannah (March) Hinkle age 85 and sister-in-law of Matilda above.  She married Joseph Taylor and they had three children:  Mary, Jesse and Joseph. 

1918 Oscar Robertson son of Joel & Clara (Page) Robertson in Illinois, age 31.  He was born in 1886 and is buried in Ten Mile Cemetery in Hamilton Co., IL.

1931 Mary Colclasure in Clay Co., IL age 70.  She was the daughter of Abraham & Catherine (Galbraith) Colclasure.

1939 Paul Erkman the 14 year old son of Charlie & Mary (Lichtenberger) Erkman.

1942 Idella Robertson daughter of James & Mary (Maulding) Robertson age 73.  She was born in Wayne Co., IL in 1868.  Idella married Louis Osborn and they had ten children:  Louisa, Oliver, Anna, Everett, Ernie, Mary, Rose, Homer, Flossie and Ray.  She is buried in Salem / Mateer Cemetery in Wayne Co., IL.

1956 Ada (Edmonds) Withrow wife of Miles Grandison.  They had five children: Troy, Robert, Perry, Grace and Arlene.

1966 Oscar Lathrop son of Henry & Luvina (Hostettler) Lathrop age 83.  He was born in Richland Co., IL in 1882.  Oscar married Effie Dewhurst and they had three children:  Thelma, Ross and Virgil.  He is buried in Amity Cemetery in Richland Co., IL.

1986 Vaudeth (Pemberton) Fitzgerald age 73 the wife of Lawrence Fitzgerald.  They had four children:  Betty, Karen, unnamed son and unnamed daughter. 

2005 Leroy Allen Wolfe, 59, Geff, died Thursday (today) Oct. 20, 2005 at 6:24 a.m. in Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney.

He was disabled.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Bestow Cemetery in Geff.  There will be no visitation.  Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born in Clay County, Jan. 30, 1946 to Theron C. and Julia Goings Wolfe. 

Survivors include a sister, Julia Jones of Athens; and a brother, Theron Wolfe of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
