In Memoriam September 19th

1889 Cora Roney infant daughter of David & Samantha (Lathrop) Roney.  She is buried in Amity Cemetery in Richland Co., IL.

1934 Louisa “Lula” Deitz, daughter of Michael and Frederica Deitz, was born in Indiana, May 22, 1866, and died at her home in Carmi, September 19, 1934.
She was united in marriage March 30, 1880, to John Ehrhardt, who passed into the Great Beyond October 8, 1901. To this union were born three sons, Jacob, John and an infant, and five daughters, Mary, Lena, Carrie, Rose and an infant, all of whom have preceded her in death with the exception of John and Rose Hendershott, of near Enfield.  She also leaves to mourn their loss two sons-in-law, Tom Hays of Columbus, Ohio, and Dayton Hendershott of Enfield; one sister, Mrs. Lena Hays of Enfield; two half-sisters, Mrs. Sophia Jordan of Evansville and Mrs. Anna Wheeler of Mill Shoals; three half-brothers, John, Henry and Fred Eerkman; one step-brother, George Erkman; one step-sister Catherine Dempsey of Carmi; eighteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Early in life Mrs. Ehrhardt professed faith in Christ and affiliated herself with the Methodist Church at Bethel, where she held her membership until death.  She was a devoted companion, a loving mother and a friend at all times.  Amid the hardship of being a widow, in the early life of her children she assumed the responsibility of rearing and educating these children to successful manhood and womanhood.
Short funeral services were held at the family residence Friday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock and services were held at Bethel Church at 1:30 o'clock, Rev. W. J. Fahnestock of Salem officiating, assisted by Rev. J.H. Davidson of Enfield.  Interment was in Newman Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Kenneth Ehrhardt, Lyman Hendershott, Lynn Hendershott, George Logan, Warren Dempsey and Charles Dosher.  Those in charge of the flowers were Mrs. Irene Rhodt, Mrs. Lyman Porter, Mrs. Irene Smith, Mrs. Charles Dosher, Mrs. Harley Greenlee, Miss Ethel Ehrhardt, Miss Frances Hendershott, Miss Dorothy Hendershott, Miss Luella Ehrhardt, Mrs. Elmer Melrose, Mrs. Clara Kello and Miss Edna Hays.  Archer service.

1938 Florence (Gentle) Butler - Mrs. Florence D. Butler wife of George F. Butler, died at her home in Bluford at four o’clock yesterday afternoon at the age of 76 years, eight months and 10 days.
Funeral services will be held at two o’clock Wednesday afternoon at Mt. Olive church and burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.  The body will remain at the home until the funeral hour, where her many friends may call at any convenient time.
Mrs. Butler was born January 9, 1862, in Edgar county, Illinois, the daughter of John and Mary Frances Gentle.  She had been a respected resident of Bluford for the past 18 years.
She is survived by her husband, George; one son, Morton Butler of Wayne City; one daughter, Mrs. Flossie Long of Centralia; and one sister, Adatine Wood of California, Iowa.
1965 Eva (Holler) Henson age 70, the daughter of Willis & Martha (Spry) Holler.  She was born in IL in 1895 and married John Henson in Clay Co., IL.  They had at least one child: John.


2001 Cecil “Butch” Flanigan, 46, of Bluford died 6 a.m. Sept. 19, 2001, as the result of a truck accident at Henderson, N.C.
He was a truck driver.
Mr. Flanigan was born July 28, 1955, in Fairfield to Cecil C. and Opal (Shaw) Flanigan.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City.  Hosa Caldwell will officiate.  Burial will be at Salem Mateer Cemetery.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home.
Mr. Flanigan is survived by his mother of Bluford; three brothers Terry Flanigan of Benton, Ky., and Bill Flanigan and George Flanigan, both of Bluford; and one sister Diana White of Bluford.
Mr. Flanigan was a Protestant.  He served in the military.
He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Donald and Larry.

1965 Roger Rebholz age 21 the son of Clarence & Ruby (Peugh) Rebholz. He is buried in Lacon Cemetery in Lacon, IL.
