In Memoriam July 2nd

1922 Charles Speer age 78 in Kellyville, OK.  Born in Kentucky in 1843 to Marquis & Susan (Hinkle) Speer, Charles married 1) Sarah Head ca. 1863 and had a daughter who died at birth or shortly after.  2) Anna Runyon in 1865 and they had: Lou, James, Ella, Daisy, Maurice, Lida, Alberta, William, Weaver, Roger and Luther.  He and Anna divorced and Charles moved to Oklahoma.  He is buried in Sunrise Cemetery in Kellyville, OK.

1934 Ruth Hampton age 28 in Louisville, KY.  The daughter of Marcus & Margaret (Speer) Hampton, she was born in Oldham Co., KY in 1905.


1983 Clyde Eugene Colclasure 54, 405 SE Second St., an Airtex Products employee was pronounced dead-on-arrival at 11:30 a.m. Saturday July 2, 1983, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital following a heart attack at his home.
Mr. Colclasure was taken ill after he returned from a trip to Wayne City.  He was taken by the Wayne County Ambulance to the hospital.  He had no history of heart problems, according to the family. 
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday (today) at the Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Wodicker officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Colclasure was born in Fairfield Jan. 18, 1929, the son of Vernie and Anna (Cox) Colclasure.  He attended Fairfield Community High School, but graduated with a high school diploma while serving in the Air Force.
He was married to the former Paula McKitrick in Fairfield May 4, 1948, following his military service.  Mrs. Colclasure operates Colclasure Child Care.
Mr. Colclasure served in the Air Force from 1945-1948.
He was employed for 35 years by Airtex Products and worked in the shipping department.
Mr. Colclasure was a member of the First Church of God.
He is survived by his wife Paula, of Fairfield; his father Vernie Colclasure, of Fairfield; his mother, Mrs. Albert (Anna) Green, of Fairfield; one son, Robert Colclasure of Fairfield; one daughter Mrs. Michael (Lori) Smith of Mt. Venron; two sisters, Mrs. Arnold (Carmen) Wood, of Geff; and Mrs. Victor (Irene) Hutchinson of Rockford; two half-brothers, Raymond and Ray Colclasure both of Plainfield; one step-brother, Gene Harris of Joliet and six grandchildren.

1995 Rilla Elizabeth "Betty" Oliver, 70, of Louisville, died at 11:45 p.m., Tuesday, July 4, 1995, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Louisville Baptist Church. Neal Funeral Home, Louisville, is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, before services, at the church. Brother Kenneth Hirtzel will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Orchard Hill Cemetery, rural Louisville. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Southeastern Illinois, Olney.
Mrs. Oliver was born Aug. 26, 1924 in Clay County, the daughter of Clarence and Amy C. (Hasting) Cook. She married Charles W. Oliver in 1943. He preceded her in death in 1995. She was secretary for HIA Insurance, and a member of the Louisville Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Don Oliver of Evansville, IN and Dennis Oliver of Phoenix, AZ; one daughter, Sue Oliver of Phoenix, AZ; one brother Hasting Cook of Paris; two sisters, Jane Phemister of Ocala, FL and Blanche Frey of Newport News, VA; and one granddaughter, Tricia Oliver
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and one brother.
