Ohio Jan. 14, 1837 came to Illinois at two years old to Effingham County,
Illinois, in 1840 to Clay County, Illinois.
Only Mrs. Emily Fitzgerald who lives in Iola survives of four brothers
and three sisters. He was a member of
the Sailor Springs Baptist Church. Son
of James & Elizabeth (Tewalt) Smith he is buried in Ingraham Cemetery.
