1702 Elizabeth Waterman daughter of John & Elizabeth (Lathrop) Waterman

1784 Mourning Maulding daughter of Ambrose & Peggy (?) Maulding.  She married John Anderson who came from Kentucky to this vicinity about 1818.  He settled near the present spillway of the city lake.  His house served as the Seat of Justice for Hamilton County during formation and until a court building was erected in McLeansboro.  Mr. Anderson, born May 10, 1789 in Virginia, married Mourning Maulding, daughter of Ambrose Maulding.  John and Mourning Anderson were buried in the Rathbone cemetery south of McLeansboro.  [Harrelson, Ralph.  “A New Geography of Hamilton County,” Illinois Magazine, Vol. XVII, No. 2, Feb. 1978].  They had at least one daughter.  Mourning died 1846 in Hamilton Co. IL.  They are buried in Rathbone Cemetery in Hamilton Co., IL


1836 James Crumbacher the husband of Nancy Gentle in Ohio.

1849 John Smith in Clay Co., IL the son of William & Clarinda (Benefield) Smith.  He died 1937 in Clay Co., IL and is buried in Ingraham Cemetery there.

1887 Louisa Erkman daughter in George & Anna (Hahn) Erkman.  She married G.B. Sears. 

1899 Walter Bryan husband of Ethel Smith

Lavern Shaw son of William & Berval (Wood) Shaw

Robert Marple son of David & Emily (Bond) Marple

Kenny Roach son of Kendall & Amy (Ledet) Roach

Anniversaries . . . 

1698 Joseph Bradford & Anne Fitch in Norwich, CT.  Joseph born 1675 was the son of Major William & Mary (Fitch) Bradford.  Anne, the daughter of Rev. James & Priscilla (Mason) Fitch was born 1675 in Norwich, CT.  They were first cousins.  The couple had ten children.  Anne died 1715 in Lebanon, CT at age 40.  She is buried in Fox Cemetery in Oakdale, CT.  Joseph married 2) Mary Sherwood ca. 1716 and they had one son.  Joseph died Jan 1746/47 in New London, CT and is buried in Raymond Hill Cemetery in Oakdale, CT.  – images of Joseph’s tombstone


1932 - Elmer Zeller & Phoebe Wheeler.  Elmer, the son of John & Clara (Erkman) Zeller was born in St. James, AR in 1899.  He died in 1971.
