Birthdays:

1600 Ruth Capen in England the daughter of Bernard & Joan (Purchase) Capen

1655 Elizabeth Loomis the daughter of Nathaniel & Elizabeth (More) Loomis.  She died 1717 in Wethersfield, CT.

1673 Mary Loomis the daughter of Deacon John & Elizabeth (Scott) Loomis.  She died in 1675.
 
1910 Elmer Gentle in Jefferson Co. IL the son of Calvin & Grace (Whitlatch) Gentle.  He died in 2001 in Mt. Vernon, IL. 

Riley Withrow son of William & Doracy (Ogden) Withrow

Thelma Talbert daughter of Charles Talbert.  She married ? Pollard. 

Brian Curtis son of Jerry & Debra (McAllister) Curtis 

Ryan Hamilton son of Joseph & Patti (Jones) Hamilton

Marriages:

1721 Nathaniel Loomis & Sarah Skinner.  Nathaniel born 1700 in Connecticut was the son of Josiah & Mary (Rockwell) Loomis.  Nathaniel died in 1768.

1854 William Fitzgerald & Louisa Ballard.  William the son of Derritt & Mary (Slaven) Fitzgerald was born 1835 in Indiana.  This was his first marriage.  Louisa  probably died ca. 1855 as she does not appear on the 1855 Clay Co., IL census with William.  There were no known children.

1865 Joseph Maier & Clara Erkman.  Joseph was born 1836 in Obermarchtal, Germany and immigrated in 1854.  Clara the daughter of Jacob & Katherine (Warner) Erkman was born in 1839 in Holmes Co. OH.  The Erkmans moved to White Co. IL ca. 1849.  Joseph served in Company F of the 87th IL Infantry during the Civil War.  Shortly after their marriage, Joseph joined the Southern Indiana Conference of the Evangelical Association and served the following fields:  Montgomery, Ind., Circuit, two years, Vandalia Circuit, 2 years, Evansville, Mt. Carmel, Ill., 2 years and Cincinnati, Ohio, 1 ½ years.  After 11 ½ years of service in the ministry he located at Carmi, IL.

In his obituary he was described as a gentleman of profound intellect who could converse on many subjects.  He delighted to talk of his adventures during the civil war and at different times contributed stories of his exploits to the county newspapers.  His articles, like his speech were highly interesting and were enjoyed by many.

Clara and Joseph had four children, but only one lived to adulthood.  Joseph died in Carmi, IL in 1914.  Clara died there in 1917.  They are buried in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi, IL.

2010 Brian Foley II & Kimberly Downey in Wayne Co., IL.  Brian is the son of Brian & Shelley (?) Foley.  Kimberly is the daughter of Charles & Cheri (Roberson) Downey.  The couple have a daughter.
