Did everyone get their taxes done on time?  The first U.S. income tax was imposed in 1861 to help pay for the Civil War.

Tax day birthdays:

1697 Jemima Whitcomb in Windsor, CT the wife of Ebenezer Loomis.  She died in 1712.

1851 Columbus Speer son of Marquis & Susan (Hinkle) Speer.  He died in 1941.

1869 Elizabeth Miller born in Moores Vinyard, IN the daughter of William & Jane (Edwards) Miller.  She married William Lutton and moved to Nebraska where they had three sons.

Anniversaries:

1794 David Parks & Elizabeth Towson in Baltimore, MD.  David born ca. 1760 was probably the son of David Parks.  The couple had at least one son.

1843 Willis Gurley & Elizabeth Yandle in Massac Co. IL.  Willis was born 1818 in South Carolina the son of William & Polly Gurley.  The family moved to southern Illinois before 1840.  Elizabeth was born 1825 in Calloway Co., KY.  She and Willis had 10 children. Willis died in 1873 and Elizabeth in 1879 in Massac Co.  They are buried in Gurley Cemetery in Massac Co. IL.

1989 Harold Leblanc & Donna Ledet.  Donna is the daughter of David & Carol (Cornwell) Ledet.  They have two children.
