Many happy returns to:

1549 Richard Steele son of Richard Steele in Fairstead, England.  He married Elizabeth and had three children.  He died in 1631 in Fairstead.

1839 Sarah Head first wife of Charles Speer.  She died in childbirth with their only child in 1863 in Oldham Co., KY.

1853 Thomas Parks son of Bezelria & Melinda (Edwards) Parks in Omega, IL.  He died in 1912.  We're related to him through both the Parks and Edwards lines.

1898 Reuverta Wilson in Hamilton Co. IL the daughter of Thomas & Mary (Butler) Wilson.  She died in 1985 in Richland Co. IL and is buried in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Jefferson Co. IL.

Ruby Gurley

1901 Ruby Gurley in Wayne Co., IL the daughter of J.R. & Lou (Speer) Gurley.  At age 14 she made the following grades in school:  Orthography (spelling) 98, U.S. History 82, Reading 91, Physiology 90, Grammar 90, Arithmetic 80, Penmanship 86, Geography 88 and Civics 70.   She and her first husband John Barr homesteaded in Colorado ca. 1921.  She worked many years as a nurse practitioner and midwife.  She married 2^nd Bert Musteen and lived in Cameron, MO.  Late in life she returned to Wayne County, IL and lived in Fairfield until her death in 1984.  She is buried in Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City, IL.

Anniversaries:

1839 John Quinn & Roxanne Brooks in Muskingum Co., OH.  Roxanne, the daughter of Caleb Brooks was born in 1809.  The Quinns moved with Brooks family members to Bartholomew Co., IN ca. 1855.  The couple had at least 2 children.  Roxanne died in 1893 at age 84. 

1894 Samuel Kallenbach & Susan Erkman in White Co., IL.  Samuel was the son of Andrew & Katherine (Speck) Kallenbach in 1869.  Susie born 1867 in White Co. IL was the daughter of John & Catherine (Burkhardt) Erkman.  She and Sam had four children.  Samuel died in 1944 and Susie in 1946.  They are buried in St. John’s Cemetery, White Co., IL.

1909 Dwight Hendershot & Ruth Hays.  Dwight was born 1886 in IL the son of J.e. & Louise (Luthe) Hendershot.  Ruth was born in 1890 the daughter of John & Lena (Dietz) Hays.  She and Dwight had two children.

1952 Donald McAllister & Marjorie Oliver in Louisville, IL. Marjorie is the daughter of Samuel & Gaynell (White) Oliver.  She and Donald have six children.  

1969 Donald Smith & Elaine Neudecker.  Donald is the son of Raymond & Gladys (Martin) Smith.  He and Elaine have 1 son.
