Rowan County, NC was formed in 1753. As it was settled, it was divided into several counties.  In 1822 Davidson County was created from the southern portion of Rowan.  The Fox, Grove and Hinkle families all lived in the section which became part of Davidson County prior to being divided and so named.  Several members of the family are probably buried in the cemetery located next to the Bethany United Church of Christ.  There are a lot of these old tombstones in the cemetery.  The are several inches thick with intricate carvings.  Most of the inscriptions have worn off, so there's no way to locate individual graves.
