Birthdays

1562 John Loomis baptized in Thaxted, England son of John & Krysten (Pasfield), died 1619.  He married Agnes ?.  They had 6 children.  In his will he is described as a tailor, he left a rental property with garden worth £40 and a rental stable worth £30.  

1632 Abigail Doane in Plymouth Colony, died 1734 Norwich, Connecticut.  She married Samuel Lathrop in 1690 in Plymouth. 

1746 Jedidiah Lathrop in Newent, Connecticut son of Lt. Ezra & Charity (Perkins) Lathrop, d. 1829 in Pennsylvania.  He married Sarah Tracy in 1767.

1778 Thomas Johnson born in Pennsylvania son of Caspar & Deborah (Adamson) Johnson.

1856 Mary Draper in Decatur County, Indiana daughter of Benjamin & Elizabeth (Wheeling) Draper

1859 John Zeller in Posey County, IN son of John & Maria (Damm) Zeller, died 1907 in Basin, WY.  He married Clara Erkman in Enfield, IL in 1880.  They moved to Sikeston, Missouri in 1892, to St. Joseph, Arkansas in 1897 and to Wyoming in 1902.  The Zellers had 11 children.

1881 Mary Bryan in Clay County, IL daughter of Wesley & Catherine (Smith) Bryan, d. 1974 Clay County, IL.  She married Ira Henderick.

1897 Guy Stanton in Hayden, Colorado, died in Grand Junction, Colorado in 1976.  He married Ortha Robertson in 1925 and they had 3 children.

Anniversaries

1783 Patrick Doran & Elizabeth Goodnight in Lincoln County, Kentucky.  Patrick served in the western theater of the American Revolution under George Rogers Clark.  Elizabeth was born ca. 1765 in North Carolina the daughter of Hans Michael & Mary (Landis) Goodnight.

1900 William Dietz & Ida Ellen Caldwell.  Bill, born in White County in 1874 was the son of Michael & Fredericka (Propst) Dietz.  He died in 1925 in the tri-state tornado.  Ida was born in 1879 and died in 1950.  They are both buried in the Enfield Cemetery.  The Dietz’s had 5 children.  See January 3, 2013 entry for photograph.

1911 Chester Wilfong & Laura Freese in Clay County, IL.  Chester was the son of Henry & Mary Ann (Gurley) Wilfong born in 1891.  Laura was born in Indiana in 1895.  They had at least 4 children.

1916 Elmer Wilkin & Delia Robinson.  Elmer the son of John & Mary (Smith) Wilkin was born in 1893 and died in 1973.  Delia was born in 1898 and died in 1969.

1955 Fred Colclasure & Wilma Jones.  Fred was born 1934 in Fairfield, Illinois the son of Verlie & Marcia (Baker) Colclasure and died 2008.  The couple had 4 children.
